Our members live in and around the greater North Kitsap County community, including Bainbridge Island, Kingston, Indianola, Suquamish, and Poulsbo. No matter where you live, you are invited to attend our church, visit our Reading Room, and enroll your children in our Sunday School.
History of our church
Our church was established in the spring of 1932 as the Christian Science Society of Eagle Harbor. The following year, it was recognized as a branch of The Mother Church in Boston, MA, as the Christian Science Society, Winslow, Washington. The existing church building was dedicated on December, 1941. In 1953, the church became known as First Church of Christ, Scientist, Bainbridge Island.
Are you in need of better physical or mental health? Do you want to understand God better?
Christian Science is based on the Bible - on the teachings and healings of Christ Jesus. It was discovered in the 1800s by Mary Baker Eddy, who was healed of life-threatening injuries after an accident. She explains Christian Science in her book, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures as a Science with practical rules that are available to anyone for healing as Jesus did.Mary Baker Eddy healed herself and countless other people and taught them how to heal, too.
How can I learn more?
Our Christian Science Reading Room on Winslow Way is a good place to start.
Here you can read, borrow or purchase a copy of Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, by Mary Baker Eddy. You can also talk to an experienced Christian Scientist. Our church members staff the Reading Room Monday-Saturday, 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m, open at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesdays and until 5:00 on Thursdays, Sunday 11:15 a.m. - noon.
